Railakka Huskies
Railakka Huskies is a small family-run business based in the scenic surroundings of Suorajärvi in Kuusamo, far from the busy Ruka resort area.
Here, you will find peace, fresh air, and pure northern nature right at your doorstep. We specialize in small private experiences guided by locals who know the area, the wilderness, and the dogs by heart.
Our work is built around respect for nature, meaningful encounters, and ethical dog care - values that are part of our everyday life.
From December to March, the area is known for its reliable snow conditions, making it an ideal setting for winter adventures. In summer and autumn, the nearby lakes, rivers, and forests offer endless opportunities to explore the Arctic wilderness. Just a short distance away flows the well-known Kuusinki River, famous for its trout and grayling fishing.
Our huskies
Our huskies are at the heart of everything we do.
We have a small team of around 15 dogs. Each husky has its own personality, energy, and role in the team. We focus on responsible dog care, daily training, and giving the dogs the life they are bred for - running. They are not just working animals - they are our companions and part of our daily life.
We spend time with every dog, making sure they are healthy, happy and eager to run. Their wellbeing is the foundation of every experience we offer.
